- littleloud.com was a successful company which made websites, animations and games for various big companies : http://littleloud.com
- When storyboarding for a short animation of a 'big' story:
- How are you going to condense down your story? Choose what/not to show
- Create a rough storyboard with ideas of shots you might use
- Use your storyboard as a template to create your characters (and colours, style, etc) in illustrator
- Try different styles, looks, colour palettes etc
- Different companies will give different creative demands or restrictions for projects
A couple of projects that littlelloud.com created which I thought were particularly interesting were:
- 'The Curfew' (online game)
- Had a futuristic concept
- Started with a storyboard outline with images
- Approached a professional writer for help with a storyline
- Created a whole futuristic world
- The game gave people something to think about after playing it
- 'Sweatshop' (game for Channel 4 online)
- Cartoon-y characters had a cute feel, lightened some fairly grim events/scenarios
- Fun game but with a message behind it about moral choices
- Had people check facts and information used in the game to check it was accurate and okay to use
